The Narberth Soap Company a UK based company located in the small semi-rural village Narberth in the heart of historic Pembrokeshire. Their soaps are made using the cold processed method, handcrafted in small batches, by Alex. They use the highest quality ingredients sustainably sourced and some of their botanicals are home-grown.
They have never, and never will, test on animals and support animal welfare and therefore all of their products and ingredients are created without the use of animal testing.
They also are an eco-friendly company and select all of their ingredients from sustainable sources. Part of this is to also to support the Palm oil free movement.
The Narberth Soap company was born out of love – for others and for one’s own body. Whilst growing up, Alex loved to watch her Auntie Helena make her own soaps out of produce from her garden. Her Auntie had ten children, and providing for them proved a hard task financially. However, what she did have, Alex will often say, was an abundance of knowledge and love. With these two things, her home was made into a paradise for her children and niece (Alex). Watching her aunt’s careful creation of something nourishing and useful out of nothing much more than this love and knowledge inspired Alex. Years later, health problems led to a personal struggle to find products that are kind to sensitive skin. Not willing to settle for anything less than completely natural soaps and products that would not harm her skin, The Narberth Soap company was born.
As a Company, we understand the need for soaps that leave your body as happy and nourished as it is clean. We are a family business and therefore have complete control over everything that goes into the products, from the soap making process itself to final environmentally friendly packaging. Our soaps are completely free from nasty chemicals, with most ingredients either locally sources or home grown. It really is a family affair – the soaps celebrate the beauty of rural Pembrokeshire’s flora and fauna while celebrating your skin too, bringing out your very best, natural self. Our products range from shampoos to lip balms and even soaps for the animal members of your household too. The soaps themselves come in all different colours and scents; customers often remark that they look good enough to eat! (They are, unfortunately, not for consumption). For example, our natural, non-irritating deodorant balm contains no alcohol, aluminium or plastic, and is available in different natural scents. You are also able to customise a soap gift box for a loved one (or yourself). There are currently thirteen scents to choose from, including ‘Lime and French Clay’ and ‘Goats milk and honey’, as well as addable eco-friendly accessories. As well as this The Narberth Soap Company also has a range of skin loving products that have been developed with the intention to help sensitive skin, this is called the Pure Range. In 2018, Alex was diagnosed with Epstein-Barr virus, commonly known as glandular fever. I had what is known a maculopapular rash, due to the glandular fever and since I have been suffering with sensitive skin and scalp. She found relief in reducing shop bought products and have since not had any more skin complications. Her hope is that her soaps can be of some relief to other people.
Whatever you select, by making a purchase from The Narberth Soap Company, not only are you opting to support a small local business, you are opting to fully support your skin too. Smell lovely, look lovely and feel wonderful with their natural soaps and body products.
